When Miroslav Šašek (1916–1980) emigrated in 1947, he was already an established illustrator and cartoonist. He then lived in various cities in Europe. He gained worldwide fame for his edition of tourist guides for children, entitled This is... Between 1958 and 1974 he created eighteen of them. They were translated into many languages and published in editions of tens of thousands. They won their author several awards and four of them (New York, Israel, Venice, Ireland) were even made into films. The exhibition is organised in collaboration with Miroslav Šašek Foundation, Prague.
